By definition a niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market. Creating a niche market is especially very profitable for small businesses. Being the only product or service provider in a sector means you are the king. Consumers have to go for your product. The emphasis is on the need for creating a market for your product. If you are creating a niche market, then it would be definitely be a great head start for your product. The important thing to be kept in mind here is that your product should be marketable, the market should have scope for growth and your customers should be accessible. A niche Market also means that there is no other vendor in the same sphere selling a similar product or service. A niche is a tightly focused segment of a market focusing on very specific needs and having specific appeal. Your product must be different and useful. Only then will customers come to you. Your product must cater to the needs and taste of a select consumer group. That is what makes a niche market. |
